As we journey through reading Psalm 119 together, please feel free to share what God is teaching you. May we seek him with all our hearts and not neglect his word this summer.

Something new...
Welcome to our first attempt at a SHE Blog. We hope that this will be tool to keep conversation going over the next few months. I have started reading the first two sections of 119 and want to hide HIs words in my heart. I pray that this summer is rich with growth for all of us. I want to hunger for HIm like never before with an undivided heart. Verse 2 says "Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart." I want to seek him with ALL my heart, every bit of it.

I was excited to hop on the blog today, thinking I would see a plethora of awesome and inspiring posts, but it looks like the blog hasn't really taken off yet. I like this idea of staying connected through the blog, and I'm hopeful more women will sign up to it.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share that this morning, I read through Psalm 119:17-24 and was dead stopped at verse 20. "My soul is consumed with longing for your law at all times." WOW, I just feel far from this verse, as I reflect and realize that my soul is not fully consumed with longing for God's law at ALL times. I know I am craving more and more of God, and desire to be with Him, but to have passion for God's law in the way this Psalmists cries out is something so radical, and I want that!
Often times I'll check to see how different versions of the Bible word scripture, and I liked "The Message" version of this verse as well. Vs. 20 states: My soul is starved and hungry, ravenous!—insatiable for your nourishing commands. I love this illustration of a starving and hungry soul whose only nourishment could come from God's command and His word.
My prayer today is based from Psalm 119:18; "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law."
